CORFU

Corfu is the second largest of the Ionian islands in Greece. The island’s history is laden with battles and conquests. The legacy of these struggles is visible in the form of castles punctuating strategic locations across the island. With its naval tradition, rich history and distinctive culture, Corfu constitutes the perfect setting for a Classic Yacht Race. Simultaneously, Corfu is a very popular tourist destination, with beautiful spots for post-racing social activities and an exciting night life.

In terms of sailing the weather conditions are excellent in June and the racing schedule will include a mix of buoy racing and coastal courses, leading to exciting and challenging daily race schedule which will intrigue participants as well as on-shore spectators who will be rewarded with breathtaking views and beautiful boats sailing out to sea with the ancient castle ruins as the perfect backdrop for the spectacular classic yachts and traditional caiques.

The Yacht Club of Corfu has excellent mooring facilities as well as being a great venue to host the Welcome Cocktail and Award Ceremony.
